Why Do People Travel?

Can you imagine what is life without traveling? Is it possible? Whatever your reason is, traveling is a part of people's life. We all travel. The reason behind that is up to you.
There are different reasons why people travels:.
1.) Most People Travel because they want to see their families and friends who live far away. Invitations from families and friends are seldom so you will decide to travel just to see them.
2.) People Travel because they want to see their soul mates. Some people believe that there is only one person for them and if they haven't had much luck searching in their area, they figured it out that even though there are millions of people around the world, they can still find it in other place.
3.) People travel to seek for work because they want to experience how to work from another place. We must admit that earning money is hard and some people decide to work abroad because they are looking for greener pasture. Other place pays bigger rates than their own place. We may also say that their expertise is not favorable in their own place. Unfortunately, they have to leave their families for awhile for a job opportunities abroad.
4.) People travel because they want to learn others cultures. They want to see the difference between their culture and other cultures. They want to learn others culture because for them traveling is fun while learning. One particular thing about the culture is the food. They want to know how food is prepared and how it is done. Obviously, we all love to eat.
5.) People travel because they are writers. They want to give the readers relevant article to their readers especially when they are making story in that particular place.
6.) People travel because they want to see all beautiful scenery of different countries. Others would want to take pictures because it serves as souvenirs.
7.) When opportunity arise, it is hard to decide whether to leave your family and open a business far away your place. Some businessmen would rather put up business in other place because they want gain and it is more profitable than staying in their place. Business is nothing without profit.
Traveling is not only for rich people. Whether you are poor or in the middle class, you can travel as long as it fits your budget. Some travel for their goals, some travel for fun and relaxation and some travel for experience.

The Goan Parties & its Night after Life :-)

Goa has always been known for its ‘Happening’ culture. Nightlife of Goa is a major attraction for the tourists. The beaches are a hotspot for organising parties. Alternatively, hotels, pubs, bars and casinos are also a party spot. Party culture in Goa is supposed to be started by the Hippies during there visit to Goa in 1960s. They found the beaches of Goa perfect for resting in solitude. Nights on these beaches under the moon along with water on one side prompted them to party during night time. Since then, Goa has come a long way in terms of the manner of the party. Earlier parties were organised on festivals, get togethers and at celebration times. Now a days parties have become a sort of compulsions on the beaches of Goa. Tourists and locals need no excuse for a party and music & dance go on for whole night.

The Rave parties of Goa are also said to be started by the Hippies. One of the main form of entertainment of the tourists, the Rave parties are gaining more and more popularity every passing year. Earlier Rave parties meant Loud music, Boozing, and Addictive Drugs abuse. The hippies had a kind of life style which required alcohol, drugs and other illegal consumable items. Slowly the craze of these kind of parties started building up in the youths and the visitors of Goa. Later on, with government interventions and regulatary norms, Drug abuse came down as these were declared illegal by law. In the current scenario, Rave parties in Goa mean ‘Goa Trance music’, Dance, Live bands, great food and occasional boozing. The local music bands of Goa have developed a unique style of music, which is refered to as ‘Goa Trance’. The Rave parties of Goa are also refered as Trance parties.

The growing drug abuse in these Rave parties faced heavy oppositions by the government officials, environmentalists and the local media. Since last few years, they have joined hands over the drug abuse issue and to put a stop to the easy availibility of these drugs. Now it’s only during Christmas and New Year that one can be guaranteed an organised rave on a scale to match Ibiza, Thailand or Miami. For the rest of year normal dance and music Trance parties go on.

Nightlife :-
Goa is the best place in India to visit, for extra fun and frolic enjoy nightlife in Goa. Nightlife in Goa is exciting and there are many ways to spark up the evening. What adds to the merriment here apart from the sun sand and sea is the terrific nightlife of Goa. Even the most developed metros of the country cannot compete with the nightlife here. The beaches are popular undoubtedly but what makes them popular is the never dying party spirit of the people. Ever since the hippies made Goa their hangout zone, partying has come to be an integral part. The laws of the state are liberal with alcohol, you can get a drink almost at any spot in the state. However, it comes strict against drunken driving, nudity and drugs.

Visit Goa for extra fun and frolic enjoy nightlife in Goa. Goa nightlife is full of fun with Goa night clubs, discos in Goa, and Goa discotheques.

Discos in Goa :
Anjuna Beach Discos, Bamboo Forest Disco, Paradiso Disco, North Goa Discos, Club Cabana Disco, Club Antoos Disco, Night Clubs in Goa, Hill Top Disco, South Goa Discos, Club Tito's Disco, Club Extreme Disco.

The atmosphere is just great - relaxing and conducive to spend with family and friends. What surprises is that every third house at some place is a bar cum restaurant selling chilled bear and reasonable Goan delicacies and sea food.

There are numerous ways and places to have a wonderful evening ahead once you are in Goa, but don't plan ahead. If you plan to dine, drink and party at three different places through the evening then you might end up doing all three at a single place. Most restaurants also have bars, many bars have night clubs here. The atmosphere is relaxed. Nightlife in Goa is not just wine, dine and party, there are many options to choose from to spend your evening.
Party, Party and Party!

If you are a party animal then Goa is a party zoo. Rave parties became the mark of Goa in 1960's with hippies introducing them. Drinks, drugs and loud music marked these parties. However with government crack down on drugs and efforts to promote up market tourism instead of backpackers tourism, the rave parties have become trance parties. Goa Trance is the unique Goan music style developed by local music bands. The parties are now called Trance parties with dance and live bands performing, and controlled boozing. Anjuna, 'freak capital of the world' is popular for its night long trance parties. There is a pounding music system here on the beach. Its a rave party venue around Christmas and new year. But it's not just Anjuna raving with parties, Calangute, Baga, Colva, Dauna Paula are all venues for parties. Tito's at Baga, Ziggy's at Colva, Temptations at Red Cab on Vagator, Lido's at Dauna Paula. Except for few uncommercialized ones, you will find places of beach parties. Enjoy parties with Goa pubs, Goa discos.

Trip to Goa reveals that the nightlife in Goa is exciting and there are many ways to liven up the evening. Goans enjoy going out and it is not unusual to find families out for a night of merriment. In certain areas, almost every third house has a bar-cum-restaurant. The place may not be anything special, usually just a room in the house that has been opened to the public with a couple of chairs and a table. But the atmosphere is great - totally relaxing and extremely conducive to an enjoyable night out with friends and family. You will find on your trip to Goa that most of the places serve exquisite seafood and other Goan delicacies and have well stocked bars. The hottest place to visit and to be seen at in Goa today is Titos which is right on the beach. There's also a new discotheque 'The Beachotheque' where you can dance the night away. Or you could check out Lidos in Dona Paula. But if you are in the mood to dance to the rhythm of the ocean, get together a group of our friends, some food and drink and hit the beach. You are sure to have a special night on your trip to Goa with the sand the moon and the pounding waves!
What makes Goa one of the hottest tourist destinations in India is its vibrant nightlife. A state that believes in partying for almost every occasion, the nightlife of Goa is sure to remain etched in your memory for a long time to come. The nightlife of Goa is an essential part of an average Goan's life. Though it is not one of the metros, the Goan night life is much better than the nightlife of any other big metro city of India. The nightlife here was started by the hippies who came here during the 70's. Since then, the nightlife in Goa has steadily increased and has gained much fame now.
Since alcohol is easily available in Goa, there is no dearth of fun and enjoyment here during late hours. Goa is full of small restaurants that have bars too. So, almost every eatery will have a bar that serves chilled beer and allows you to relax in peace. The most popular zones for enjoying the nightlife of Goa are the beaches. Goans believe in partying hard and one can spot many trance parties in famous beaches where people just enjoy themselves and forget the tensions of life. Though Goa is a liberal state, there are strict laws against drunken driving, taking drugs, etc.
In case you are planning to drink, eat and dance, chances are you will end up doing it at the same place. The key to enjoy Goan nightlife is not to plan. Let everything unfold before you simultaneously. The idea of encountering the unexpected is what makes the nightlife of Goa even more exciting. Of course, the beaches are full of people jiving away to trance music and enjoying their drinks. But that unknown factor that attracts so many revelers to the Goan nightlife is what makes the parties so happening. You have to be there to feel the magic take over you.
Though, Nightlife is not so popular in India, it is very much accepted in Goa, which bears much of the Portuguese culture and tradition. One time Portuguese Colony, Goa is the best place in India to visit, if you love to fun and frolic through out the day and the night. Nightlife in Goa is exciting and there are many ways to spark up the evening.

The people of Goa are fun lovers and it is very common to find families going out for a night of fun and merriment. There are places where, almost every third house has a bar-cum-restaurant. The place may not be anything very special, usually just a room in the house that has been opened to the public with a couple of chairs and a table. But the atmosphere is excellent - totally relaxing and extremely favourable to an enjoyable night out with friends and family. Most of the places serve exquisite seafood and other Goan delicacies and have well stocked bars. Titos, which is right on the beach in Goa are the hottest place to visit and to be seen at in Goa today. There's also a new discotheque 'The Beachotheque' where you can dance the night away. You can also check out Lidos in Dona Paula. But, if you are in the mood to dance to the tempo of the ocean, get together with your group of friends, some food and drink and hit the beach. No doubt, you will surely have a special night with the shimmering sand, the soothing moon and the bracing waves!
With the party scene pretty much dead, Goan nightlife has come to resemble the kind of crass nightlife found anywhere on the planet that has large scale tourism. With the police demanding higher and higher baksheesh, only establishments that charged entry and sold drinks at extortionate prices could afford to be in the market.

Part of the reason for the rise of discos and night clubs in Goa might be in part due to the boom in Russian tourism, as visitors from Moscow wanted to get dressed up and go somewhere at night, but it was probably inevitable. It's amazing that it took as long as it did for the local gangsters to cash in on the party scene. The first club to really try to muscle in on the trance party movement was the Paradiso, run by some rich guy from Bombay. It was a weird place to dance with a wooden dance floor and overlooking balconies but at times it was the only party going - i.e. the owner had paid the cops to not let any other parties happen that night.

Life in Goa is an endless party. The carefree lifestyle and the beaches is a perfect setting for a thriving nightlife in Goa. You can party and dance the night away at the nightclubs or enjoy a quiet dinner followed by a drink at one of the popular bars or pubs. Nighttime entertainment in Goa also includes visits to the theaters. Taking a cruise in the river is another interesting way of enjoying Goa after dusk.

Partying : In Goa, everyday is a party with nightclubs and discotheques filled with people every evening. Beach parties are very popular in Goa, so are the parties at the clubs. Club Cabana, Club Antoosa and Club Extreme are some popular venues for partying in Goa. Rave or trance parties are also popular in the state. You get to hear the famous trance music of Goa here. The beach shacks feature prominently in the nightlife of Goa. Sipping a drink you can observe the lively beaches as faint strains of music plays in the background.

Public Transport in Goa

Goa Buses: This is the cheapest mode of transport in Goa. Most of the main towns of Goa are connected by road. The state-run Kadamba Transport Corporation is the main operator, although there are also other private companies. The bus services are frequent, though at times they travel at slow pace, making frequent stops. If you want to travel in comfort board the bus at the bus stand, the destination at bus stands are written in English. Pay your fares in the bus. The Kadamba Transport Corporation has started point-to-point shuttle services to and from Panaji; Ponda; Margao; Vasco-da-Gama; and the tickets to these destinations have to be purchased before boarding the bus.

GOA TRAINS: With the opening of the Konkan Railway, it is possible to travel from Canacona to Pernem enjoying the hidden parts of Goa along the journey.

GOA CAR FOR RENTALS: There are a number of companies that operate self-drive car rentals. Although it is expensive it is worth trying. Several companies have counters at the airport. It is usually cheaper to rent a car and driver for a specific trip. Some hotels provide cars for self-drive.

GOA TAXI FOR HIRE: There are two types of taxis in Goa, one is the black and yellow taxi and the other is the tourist taxi normally found outside hotels and at some beaches. The most common is Maruti van, a Japanese Suzuki minicab or minivan.

GOA MOTORCYCLES FOR RENTALS: Hiring a motorcycle in Goa is easy, and can be found at most of the coastal resorts. Though some travelers wanting to stay for a longer term prefer hiring for a month or two, you still can hire a bike for a day or weekend if you wish to travel from say Anjuna to Palolem for a change. The machines available are Enfield 350 cc, more modern Yamaha 100s and gear-less Kinetic Honda scooters which are more popular. You need an international license to ride in Goa. Some places need your passport and some deposit while a few just ask the name of the hotel you are staying at. On a rented bike you can reach the state's remote beaches and traverse long distances with relative ease. A word of caution, before driving away ensure the lights and brakes are in good shape.

MOTORCYCLE TAXI IN GOA: Goa is probably the only state in India where motorcycles are a licensed form of taxi like available in Bangkok. If you are traveling on your own, this mode of transport is much cheaper. Licensed motorcycles have a yellow painted front mudguard and are found in large numbers throughout the State.

BICYCLE RENTALS IN GOA: Most of the beaches have bicycle renting facilities, of late you can choose between the old hero standard bicycles to the more modern improved ones. Depending on the owners preferences you may have to keep a small deposit or even your passport.

GOA BOAT CRUISES: With more entrepreneurs entering in these services, you can take a boat ride from beach to beach. sometimes snacks included. some even offer overnight packages.

Arjuna: Feel a difference

Anjuna is popular with backpackers, families planning extended stays, and young and old travelers. It has a fairly long, beautiful beach lined with palm trees. It is a little secluded. It is one of the main places in Goa for all-night techno parties. On Wednesdays there is the famous Anjuna Flea Market. Thousands of people come from all over Goa to buy and sell.
Swimming is safer here than at most of the other beaches, especially at the southern end of the beach, where a rocky headway keeps the sea relatively calm. Be careful of rocks when entering the water. This is why you will probably see everyone swimming in the same area on such a long beach.
Tour buses usually park at the north end of the beach, and there is a row of Kashmiri shops and cafes in this area. During lunchtime and in the afternoon, tour buses pull in and Indian tourists get out and walk around the beach.
Theft on the beach can be a problem. Be especially careful of children and vendors. On party nights, you should keep your valuables with you or leave them with the family with whom you are staying. Thieves sometime lift the tiles off houses to break in. The bank has safety deposit boxes.
Information: If you are looking for a room, you could get off at Starco’s Crossroads, near the turnoff to Chapora. Most of the guest houses are located in this area. Near this crossroads are some shops, a motorcycle taxi stand, and it also serves as the bus stand.
Travelcash on the main road east of Starco, about 1km from the beach, changes money at a good rate quickly and efficiently.
Other travel agencies also change money. You can change money at Oxford Stores and the Manali Guest House. Both charge high commissions. You can also go to Vagator and change money at Corporation Bank. The Bank of Baroda, on the road to Mapusa, takes Visa and MasterCard.

The post office, on the road to Mapusa, 1km inland, has an efficient poste restante.

Oxford Stores is a small department store. Western goods, a good selection of vegetables and fruits, and other items. They also sell and process film. Open daily except Sunday 8 am to 8:30 pm. The small department store across the street often has many of the same items but at a lower price, especially fruits and vegetables.

Established travel agencies: Speedy (273-266), near the post office; MGM (274-317), and Travelcash (274-408), just east of the Starco on the main road to Mapusa.

The German Bakery, which is back from the beach, is a good place to eat and also has an excellent shop that has a good selection of hip clothing. There are a few other good shops near the German Bakery which also sell clothes. Near Starco Junction is a good shop selling Tibetan and fairly contemporary clothes.

Dr Manu Shah (4 to 6 pm), practices at the Orgasmic Restaurant. He is an Osteopath, does acupuncture, and practices natural medicine.

You can rent motorbikes at the repair shop about 1km from the beach. There is a place that rents motorbikes across from the German Bakery. You can also ask in the restaurants about renting a motorbike.

You can often get a good massage at the beach here.
Internet accour at Colours, next to Speedy Travel, has good connections and A/C for Rs 40 per hour. Also at Manali guesthouse.

Note: It is common for the police in Anjuna to check foreigners for licenses and insurance.
Anjuna Flea MarketDuring the Wednesday flea market, people come from the beaches all over Goa. There is a large selection of items for sale, and the place has a fascinating atmosphere in its setting amid the palm trees and next to the sea. It is an interesting experience.
If you want to look hip at the all-night parties, this is definitely the place to get outfitted. There is a good selection of clothes (Indonesian styles, etc.) sold or designed by Westerners (they often carry European price tags). You may want to look out for the European-type jewelry made by foreigners, which is often good and cannot be found in any other place in India.
If you plan on buying Rajasthani or Nepali goods, note that the items from these places sold at the flea markets are often double the price you would pay in either Rajasthan or Nepal.
You can get all types of clothes, Nepali goods, Tibetan goods, embroidered items, incense, a good selection of jewelry, semiprecious stones, crystals, fancy knives, handicrafts, hammocks, bedspreads, and other items at the flea market. There are also several people who sell the latest techno tapes, and there are good places to eat Indian, Israeli, or Western food. There are Ayurvedic doctors, professional hair cutters and colorers (foreigners), dreadlocks makers, and nose and body piercers. You can have your hair cut and painted in any style imaginable. You can also have different designs painted on your body which look like tattoos, but which last only a few weeks. I was quoted Rs 150 for temporary henna tattoo, but bargained them down to Rs 50. Even if you don’t purchase anything, you will enjoy walking around. If you do plan to buy, be prepared to bargain hard.
The flea market opens around 8 am and closes at 6 pm. It is busiest in the early afternoon. Fishing boats depart from Baga to the market—Rs 50 for the trip (I bargained a few people down to Rs 30). Tour buses and taxis come from all over Goa.

Where to Stay: The main season is from early November to late March. During the Christmas season it is difficult to get a room in a guest house. If you want to stay during the Christmas-New Year season, it is best to arrange your accommodations in advance or to first go to Calangute or Baga and then make day trips until you can find a place to stay.
Many people stay in houses and cottages, but most houses are booked months in advance or rented year after year to the same people returning during the season. To find a house, ask in the restaurants, as they usually have contacts. You most likely will have to view several houses and to bargain a bit. The longer you plan to stay, the better your bargaining power will be. Houses are rented on a monthly basis. During December and January, prices for houses will be much higher.
The prices given here are for the high season (mid-Dec to late Jan). Other times, prices are thirty to fifty percent cheaper.
Cabin Disco, on the main road to Mapusa, has rooms with a common bath for Rs 300 and Rs 400 with bath.Starco Restaurant, near the main junction to Vagator, has rooms for Rs 250 to Rs 350.

Grandpa’s has ten, well-designed rooms. It has a pool, a pool table, and offers yoga and karate lessons. Has a nice garden. Popular place so it should be booked in advance.

Villa Anjuna, D’mello Vaddo, is a nice new hotel conveniently located between the sea and the Starco Bar (the bus stop) on the road to the beach, with good comfortable rooms with hot water for Rs 650 to Rs 900. Rooms built around a pool.

Palacete Rodrigues, near Oxford Stores, is an old Portuguese house built around a pleasant courtyard. It is run by a nice family. It has double rooms for Rs 750 and suites for Rs 900. The rooms are all different, so ask to see a few.

Bougainvillea, on the outskirts of Anjuna, has a pool, a large relaxing garden, and a restaurant. The comfortable rooms range from Rs 1400/1700 to Rs 2200 (3300 during Christmas).

Don João Resorts: on the main road to Mapusa, is a modern, Western-style hotel with good rooms for Rs 1800. It is mainly geared for package tours and is usually full. It is the best place in town. During the off-season you can often bargain down to price. It is a clean and safe place. It may be possible to get a room for more than half the normally stated price.

Where to Eat: German Bakery, a ten-minute walk from the beach, serves good cakes, breads, salads, juices (including wheat grass and carrot), and herbal teas. It has a good vegetarian restaurant with Western and Indian preparations. The vegetable pulao is very good. Main preps are about Rs 40 to Rs 60. Recommended.

Bean Me Up: on the main road leading from the beach across from the Don Joao Resort, has been highly recommended to me. It specializes in Soya burgers and salads. A full meal is around Rs 150, but for what you get it is a good value. One friend of mine said it was one of the best restaurants in India serving Western food. Quick, friendly service, clean and a good atmosphere.Whole Bean is a vegetarian restaurant serving tofu burgers and avocado salads. There is a restaurant serving Israeli food with a good sound system near the main bus junction across from Starco. Recommended.

Nafils, on the main road to Mapusa, is a popular Israeli place (with Israeli cooks).

White Negro away from the beach, has a good restaurant. Main preps about Rs 60.Knock Inn has good tandoori foods, but is not cheap.Martha’s Breakfast Home serves good breakfasts.

Entertainment: The main hangout place in Anjuna is the Shore Bar, in the middle of the beach. They have a loud sound system and play techno music. The busiest day is Wednesday after the flea market closes and a thousand people come here to listen to the music and watch the sunset. It closes at 11 pm. Late nighters then head to the Guru Bar or to the Primrose Cafe in Vagator, which are open past midnight.
Paradiso is a popular techno dance place. It starts happening after 12 midnight. Frequented by foreign tourists and well-to-do, hip Indians. It is not open every night.

Travel: To get to Anjuna from Panaji, take a bus to Mapusa (30 min), then another from Mapusa (20 min, 8km). The bus to Mapusa (every half-hour) begins in Chapora and goes through Vagator. By the time it reac+hes Anjuna, there are usually no seats left. There are buses every half-hour to Vagator (7 min) and Chapora (10 min).

A motorcycle taxi is Rs 40 to Rs 60 (7 min) to Vagator or Chapora, and is more convenient than the bus. At night you may have to pay Rs 75 or more depending on the season. A motorcycle taxi to Calangute is Rs 90; a regular taxi is about Rs 200.

Popular Markets of Goa: Hot or Not in Goa?

One of the best-loved and indulged activities in Goa is shopping at its local markets that are a riot of color & exotic products that attract tourists from all over the world. Popular local markets are the Anjuna, Flea market, Mapusa Friday market and the new market at Margao. The markets of Goa are filled with local handicrafts, cuisine, spices and other items

Mapusa Market:
Mapusa is synonymous with its Friday Market, including spices of all kinds. You get great bargains here. Fresh fruit, mostly organically grown, is in abundance. That elusive smell that has your nose twitching is Goa's secret ingredient for all those wonderful sweet and sour curries - round lumps of seedless tamarind, or amot as it is known locally, in great demand in traditional Goan kitchens. Get yourself a string of chouriso or Goa's mouth-watering sausages, spiced and marinated in feni. No sausage anywhere else in the world tastes like the Goan chouriso The sausage can be located outside the Mapusa Municipal Market. If you are looking for the essence of Goa, this market is a must-see on your itinerary. The place is a riot of colour and noise. Goan women dressed in their colourful best, come in from surrounding villages to sell their locally grown or ‘manufactured wares, fried, or boiled, or added to an ordinary dish for extra zing. The best part of shopping in the Friday Market is, despite the good bargains, you are still expected to haggle. Never pay the first price asked, whether it is over trinkets, straw hats, dried fish or furniture. The Friday Market winds up by dusk and Mapusa quickly gets back to normal, until the following Friday.

Panaji Market:
In Panaji, the 18th June and MG Roads are the main shopping areas, where you can pick up handicrafts and traditional Goan items. Apart from these, the shops in the city sell clothes - cottons, denims, salwar kameezes, kids wear and saris, shoes - leather, sport shoes and jewellery - semi-precious and fashion jewellery. If you are brand conscious, MG Road is the place for you, the market is home to branded outlets such as Adidas, Nike, Levis and Benetton. Shops on MG Road are open from 9.30 am to 8 pm.

Margao Market:
Margao's Municipal Market is the main shopping market which is located to the east of the Municipal Gardens. Here, you could shop for the entire day along with enjoying the Goan food. Special items which you can buy here are shoes, a variety of Goan spices like cinnamon, cardamom, trifala, dagadful, teflam which are used for Goan dishes, dry fish, dry mango preparations and salted dry mangoes. Municipal market is open between 9 am - 2 pm & 4 pm - 8 pm.

Vasco Market:
The Municipal Market in Vasco lies in the centre of the city, adjacent to the Vasco Residency. In the municipal market, you will find a variety of shoes and clothes. Apna Bazaar is the another market in Vasco, which houses around 25 shops selling designer garments, cosmetics and jewellery. There are also several other shops selling popular music albums, sweets, chaat and cold drinks. The shops in the Municipal market are open between 9 am - 1 pm & 2 pm - 8 pm

Anjuna Flea Market:
Wednesday flea market at Anjuna is very interesting . It can be a whole new shopping experience. You can take a bus or a motorcycle taxi, or a fisherman's boat from Baga, which is quicker (15 min by boat, 30 min by road). Although you will still find hippies there, it really isn't their market any more. Now dominated by Lambani nomads in their striking clothes and jewelry, and craftspeople from elsewhere in India, the market is a splash of red and orange in a flat clearing above the rocky beach. Bead and white metal bangles, necklaces and earrings, silver toe rings, embroidered shoulder bags, silk and cotton sarongs, and ethnic footwear are among the more ordinary products on sale. If you look carefully, there are all sorts of other things here from used motorbikes of uncertain age to do-it-yourself mehendi (Henna) kits. Buy a crochet bikini, a backless mirror-work top, or a tie-dye bandana to enhance your wardrobe for those really formal occasions, or just sit back at the market bar and down a ridiculously cheap beer while someone braids your hair or you get someone to pierce any part of your anatomy or have a wild tattoo as a signature of your holiday.

Saturday Night Markets:
The Saturday Night Bazaar at Anjuna and Ingo's Saturday Night Market at Arpora are more exciting and famous than Anjuna Wednesday Flea Market. Here, the live music played by the local bands, the riot of colour and light, exotic drinks and delectable foods offered by the bars, make your shopping experience much more of a night out. In these markets, you will find a mix of local and foreign vendors. Items which you can buy here are incense sticks, jewellery, handmade shoes, T-shirts, lampshades, miniature statues, bags etc. Further, the fortune-tellers and tattoo bars add extra fun and drama to the lively atmosphere. The Saturday night markets are open from 7 pm to 1 am, between the months of November to March.

Beachside Shopping:
Goa, popularly known as "the beach paradise" is home to some of the finest beaches of the world. The Goan beaches are not only known for their pristine beauty, but they are also famous as the centre of various leisure activities, shopping is one of them. Also, on this beach stretch, you will find restaurants, cafes and juice bars serving the delectable Goan as well as Chinese and Thai cuisine. In reality, every road in Goa leads to a beach and at every end of it, you will find small and big shops selling everything, from handicrafts to traditional Goan items, popular Goan T-Shirts, sarongs and many other souvenirs. Among the beachside shopping centres, Baga-Candolim-Calangute stretch is the most popular. Shopping in the latter part of the day can be quite exciting on this beach stretch. Items which you can buy here are handicrafts, jewellery, sunglasses, goggles, spectacles, light metal figurines, sculptures, semi-precious stone rings and bracelets, all at half price. You will always want to come back for more.
